Bravely Becoming the Coach: Crossing the Finish Line
The journey was long and hard—full of sweat, tears, and more than a few uncomfortable meditation moments—but I crossed the finish line. I am officially a mindbodygreen Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
The time, energy, and emotional growth that went into completing this certification still amaze me. It was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’m so proud of myself and of all my classmates who walked this path beside me. We formed real connections, and when class ended, I felt a little lost for the first couple of weeks—like something was missing.
Proof that hard work, tears, and showing up even when it’s hard… pays off.
What I Learned
Let me be honest: I signed up thinking coaching meant giving people advice and helping them fix their problems. A lot of us thought that. We imagined creating detailed action plans, telling clients what to do, and guiding them step-by-step.
But by week two, it was clear—I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Coaching isn’t about fixing people. It’s about walking beside them. It’s about listening deeply, helping them build a vision for their life, and breaking that vision into small, meaningful goals. We collaborate on a three-month plan, then create bite-sized steps in each session that bring them closer to what they truly want.
I learned how to truly listen—not just hear words, but absorb the emotion and meaning behind them. I learned to reflect, reframe, and empower. And I’ve found those skills improving every relationship in my life.
The Unexpected
This wasn’t just professional growth—it was personal. I learned that learning something brand new at 37 isn’t easy. My brain doesn’t absorb information the same way it did in high school or college, and that’s okay.
Some parts of the journey made me uncomfortable. A few practices felt a little too “woo-woo” at first. But the more I witnessed their power—the mind-body dialogues, the mindful pauses—the more I saw how healing they could be, for both clients and myself. I’ll be talking more about that in an upcoming post in my From the Coach’s Chair series.
And yes, I cried. A lot. During meditations, during triads, during that final class session where we reflected on just how far we’d come. It was healing. It was sacred. It was proof that I am exactly where I’m meant to be, doing what I’m meant to do.
What’s Next
Coaching is officially open! You can book a free discovery call with me HERE—we’ll chat about what coaching is, what your goals are, and whether this is a good fit.
I offer several packages, and while single sessions are available, I recommend starting with a 3-month package to really build momentum.
I’m also continuing my education! I’m currently working on my personal training certification, which will be followed by training in women’s health across all life stages, and sports nutrition. I’ll also be completing a group coaching certification to begin facilitating larger workshops and group sessions.
From Coach to Trainer: My Passion for Fitness Is Just Getting Started
This journey lit a fire in me, and I can’t wait to support others on their own fitness path—one rep, one step, one breakthrough at a time.
The Big Picture
Here’s what I envision:
A women’s wellness center.
A place where you walk in and feel immediately at home.
A place for one-on-one coaching, physical health, emotional support, and community.
I see retreats—moms and daughters, postpartum mamas and their babies, women supporting each other through the hardest and most beautiful seasons of life. I see us building the village we’ve all been missing.
This is my calling. This is my mission. And we are dreaming big.
