We Survived 2024

2024 was a year of transformation and profound change in my life. For the first time, I decided to take charge of my health and wellness, and I’ve truly blossomed into a new person. It’s amazing how consistency and self-belief can completely shift your life.

Last year was also filled with incredible memories. Jorie celebrated her first birthday, and Asher became a Bar Mitzvah, officially stepping into adulthood within the Jewish community. I fell in love with Judaism and began rebuilding my relationship with God after turning away for so many years. Opening my heart and mind to faith has been a journey of discovery—of my true life purpose and of the quiet ways God has guided me all along, even when I doubted Him.

We also navigated our first Christmas season without celebrating it in our home. It was a mix of sweet and challenging moments as we adjusted to a different approach while respecting our evolving traditions. Watching Garon embrace Hanukkah with excitement was a highlight, and we still shared Christmas with my family, thanks to “Santa” delivering gifts to their house. It felt like a blend of the best of both worlds, though we’ll continue to refine what Hanukkah looks like for us in the years to come.

Looking Ahead: My 2025 Goals

As I reflect on 2024, I feel hopeful and excited for what’s to come in 2025. These aren’t resolutions; they’re intentions for building a life filled with purpose and growth. Change isn’t always easy, but it starts with small, intentional steps. I know this year will come with its share of challenges, but I believe the result will be a stronger, more connected family and meaningful personal growth.

Change Starts With You

Personal growth is the foundation of all other changes. If we want to inspire those around us—especially our children—we have to start with ourselves.

One of my biggest personal goals for 2025 is adopting a more gentle, patient, and calm approach to parenting. Lately, I’ve felt overstimulated and burnt out, which has impacted how I respond to my kids. With Garon struggling to sleep, Jorie stepping into her toddler personality, and Simon navigating the challenges of being almost 12, it’s been tough.

To support this goal, I’ll focus on calming techniques, self-care, and relaxation. Continuing therapy will also be key as I work through past trauma that influences how I react to my children. Parenting is hard, but I’m committed to showing up as the mom they need.

Becoming a Health and Wellness Coach

One of the most exciting milestones for 2025 is becoming a certified health and wellness coach! By the end of the year, I aim to help five clients and officially launch my coaching business. It’s so fulfilling to think about supporting women on their health journeys, especially because I’ve been where they are—feeling lost and unsure of where to start. I can’t wait to empower others to create lasting change.

Family: My #2 Priority

In 2024, my family dynamics suffered. We leaned heavily on screen time, and I often lacked the energy to engage fully. In 2025, I’m determined to change that.

We’ll aim for the 1,000 Hours Outside challenge, striving to spend more time outdoors, less time on screens, and more time connecting as a family. This means game nights, adventures, and hopefully, a summer vacation.

We’ll also bring Judaism further into our home with weekly Shabbat dinners and monthly gatherings with friends and family. I want my kids to experience the beauty of these traditions and the joy of community.

Another key goal is “dating” my children. Each child will get one-on-one time with me or Dan, doing something they love. It’s all about building trust and connection.

Getting the House in Order

Dan and I have been navigating life by the seat of our pants, but we need to work as a team. This year, we’ll implement monthly family business meetings to align on parenting, finances, and household plans.

Our relationship is also a priority. We’ve fallen into old patterns, treating our marriage as we did while dating, and it hasn’t served us well. In 2025, we’re focusing on growing as partners, not just co-parents.

Scary but Exciting

Growth is never easy. It’s uncomfortable, scary, and sometimes overwhelming. But it’s also exciting. I’m ready to embrace the challenges of 2025 and share this journey with all of you.

What’s your main goal for 2025? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. Let’s inspire and support each other as we take on the new year!

So Excited to Do 2025 With You

Getting to share this journey with you and support you along your journey is one of the most exciting parts for me. You hold me accountable and I hope I can do the same for you.
