From the Coach’s Chair: Letting Go of the Timeline

Here’s What Brought Me to the Chair Today

Lately, I’ve been noticing just how often I pressure myself with invisible timelines—deadlines I created out of thin air, rooted in expectations that aren’t even mine anymore. It hit me: I’ve spent so much energy trying to “keep up” with a version of success I no longer believe in.

And that brings me here.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned this past year, it’s that creating fake deadlines and piling unnecessary pressure on myself doesn’t serve me anymore. I’m done forcing myself to fit into timelines I’ve made up—because guess what? I created them, and I can change them.

When I started building my website, I knew deep in my heart that I wanted to create workout programs that are affordable and deliver great results. Programs for people just starting their fitness journey and for those looking for something fresh. I had decided to start filming the first program for release in February.

But as I sat down today, I realized that probably isn’t going to work for me. I’m starting my certification, taking on a part-time job as a PE teacher for the local homeschool co-op, and adapting to a whole new routine.

In the past, I would’ve been so mad at myself for not following through with what I said and announced. But I’ve learned to give myself grace and recognize that most of the stress we experience is self-created. So, I’m putting this project on the back burner for now. I believe it will come to life after I earn my personal training certification, which I hope to complete by the end of 2025 or early 2026.

There’s so much I’m working on right now, and I’m choosing not to feel bad if plans shift. My top priorities are my own well-being, my health coaching certification, my family, and my relationship with my husband.

2025 is going to be a year of growth and transformation, and I’m proud of all the work I’ve done in 2024 to prepare myself to embrace changes like this. Life is too short to beat ourselves up over self-imposed timelines.
